Where is St Anne’s Church?
What time do you meet?
We have 2 services on a Sunday morning. Come at 9.30 for a liturgical Communion Service, or come to our 11am Service, which is more contemporary and has groups for children too. If you like a modern worship band, then the 11 is your sort of thing; if you prefer the organ or hymns on the piano, then 9.30 will serve you best. We all share tea and coffee at 10.30am, so do come early for that if you choose 11am.

Do I need to wear anything special?
No, just whatever you feel comfortable in. We have heating so you won’t be cold!
Will I be expected to pray or sing?
We always sing together but you don’t have to join in if you don’t want to or don’t know the songs. We hope that in time you will, but don’t let it be a worry. There are prayers on screen that we all join in with saying together, and again it’s totally up to you if you want to. We share communion each week at 9.30 but we absolutely don’t expect you to take communion if you don’t follow Jesus (in fact, it’s best not to!). No one will ask you to stand up and say anything, and you don’t even have to stay for a cuppa if you’d rather not.
Do I need to be in a ‘good place’ to come along?
Absolutely not. On any given Sunday at our church, we have people celebrating and others commiserating. That’s just real life. You are welcome to come as you are. If you’ve had a great week, come and praise God! If you’ve had the worst week, come and seek his comfort in the middle of it. If it’s all fairly normal, then come and meet God all the same. We really believe that if we draw near to God, he will draw near to us, and we love meeting with him.
Can I bring the kids?
Yes! We love children at St Anne’s and have groups at the 11am service from zero-12 y/o. We also have a midweek group for youth and a Friday night youth club. Every few weeks, we have an all-age service at 11 too, where we all stay in the service together. We know that children move around a bit and make some noise, and we’re just so glad to have them with us, so please don’t worry about kids being kids.
Where shall I park?
We offer very limited parking on the site of the church. This is perfect for you if you are disabled, elderly or struggle to walk very far for whatever reason. Please do use the area immediately next to the church, without blocking the lane at the side.
For everyone else, the best thing to do is to use the car park in the cemetery on the left of the church or find a space on the streets around the church. Please park in a considerate way so we can bless our neighbours.
How do I join a life group?
To join one of our weekly bible study groups who meet in homes across Grantham, the best thing to do is chat to Andy our Minister, you can catch him on Sundays before or after services.
Is the church only for sorted people?
No! That couldn’t be further from the truth, and if Christians have ever given you the impression that you have to be sorted to go to church, then we are really sorry, because that is wrong. We’ve all done and said things we wish we hadn’t. None of us is perfect; in fact every week we join together to confess our wrongdoing to God and enjoy his forgiveness. If Church was only for sorted people, no one would come, and certainly not the staff team!
